Abstract: การวิจัยครั้งนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์ เพื่อพัฒนาการอ่านออกเสียงภาษาอังกฤษที่สะกดด้วยพยัญชนะต้น /t/ /th/, /r/ /l/, และ /v/ /w/ของนักศึกษาชั้นปีที่ 3 สาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสารระหว่างประเทศ วิทยาลัยนานาชาติ มหาวิทยาลัยราชภัฎเชียงใหม่ โดยแบบฝึกอ่านคู่เทียบเสียง ประชากรและกลุ่มตัวอย่าง นักศึกษาชาวไทย ชั้นปีที่ 3 ภาคปกติ สาขาวิชาภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสารระหว่างประเทศ ที่ลงทะเบียนเรียนรายวิชาภาษาอังกฤษเพื่อการสื่อสารด้านการโรงแรม 2 ภาคการศึกษาที่ 2 ปีการศึกาษา 2560 จำนวน 70 คน เครื่องมือที่ใช้ในการวิจัย ได้แก่ แบบทดสอบก่อนการเรียน (pre-test)และแบบทดสอบหลังการเรียน (post-test) แบ่งเป็น 2 ส่วนได้แก่ ส่วนที่ทดสอบการฟัง และ ทดสอบการออกเสียง และบทเรียนที่ประกอบด้วยแบบฝึกการออกเสียงคู่เทียบเสียง (Minimal Pair) และ (Tong Twist) วิเคราะห์ข้อมูลโดยใช้สถิติค่าร้อยละ (Percentage) ค่าเฉลี่ย ( ) ส่วนเบี่ยงเบนมาตรฐาน (Standard Deviation) และการทดสอบค่าที (t-test) ผลการวิจัยพบว่า 1. นักศึกษากลุ่มตัวอย่างสามารถออกเสียงคำภาษาอังกฤษที่สะกดด้วยพยัญชนะต้น /r/ /l/, /t/ /th/, และ /v/ /w/ ได้ถูกต้องยิ่งขึ้น โดยคะแนนเฉลี่ยก่อนและหลังการใช้ชุดการอ่านตามกลุ่มเสียง ดังนี้ กลุ่มเสียง /r/ /l/ มีค่า = 12.43 และ 16.44 กลุ่มเสียง /t/ /th/ มีค่า = 13.47 และ 15.56 และกลุ่มเสียง /v/ /w/ มีค่า 9.03 และ 11.73 2. หลังจากการใช้ชุดการออกเสียงคำแบบฝึกอ่านคู่เทียบเสียง คะแนนโดยเฉลี่ยของการออกเสียงคำ ของนักศึกษาเรียงตามลำดับจากมากไปหาน้อยดังนี้ กลุ่มเสียง /t/ /th/ มีค่าเฉลี่ยเท่ากับ 38.66 กลุ่มเสียง /r/ /l/ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 34.66 และกลุ่มเสียง /v/ /w/ คิดเป็นร้อยละ 26.66
Description: The objective of this research is to Development of Student’s Ability in Pronunciation of English Initial Consonant Words which do not appear in Thai language by Using Minimal Pairs Practice. The sample group of the research is 70 Chiang Mai Rajabhat University students, 3rd year, majoring in English for International Communication and they took Communicative English for Hotel 2 course in 2nd semester, 2017 academic year. The result of the study will be utilized to develop students’ skills of English initial consonant pronunciation (/r/ /l/, /t/ /th/ and /v/ /w/) communicative skills effectively. The instruments applied in data collecting are /r/ /l/, /t/ /th/ and /v/ /w/ Pre-test and Post-test and the minimal pairs and tong twist pronunciation practice. The statistic used in the study were percentage average, standard deviation and t-test. The study’s findings revealed the following: 1. After the treatment process, students’ average score ( ) from Pre-test and Post-test of the initial consonants were /r/ /l/ , /t/ /th/ and /v/ /w/ were 12.43 and 16.44, 13.47 and 15.56 and 9.03 and 11.73. 2. After the treatment process, the most correctness pronunciation of the students were /t/ /th/ with the percentage of 38.99 followed by /r/ /l/ and /v/ /w/ with the percentage of 34.66 and 26.66.
