Abstract: The purpose of this research were to study the achievement in writing lesson plans, the attitudes of teachers towards students ability in writing lesson plans, and the attitudes of students towards learning using cooperative learning method. The samples was 46 fourth year Elementary Program students who enrolled in CI 4603 Methods of Teaching in Elementary Education in the 1st semester of academic year 2014. The research instrument was consisted of instructional management plan on lesson plan design for 18 hours, Achievement test in writing lesson plans, Questionnaires for teachers on the ability to write lesson plans, and the focus group responding to five questions. The data analysis included percentage (%), average ( X ), standard deviation (S.D.), comparison of the pre-test and post-test with statistical t- test and content analysis. The results were as follows: 1. Students using cooperative learning method had higher academic achievement scores than before using cooperative learning method at .05 statistical significance 2. The mentor teachers thought lesson plan writing ability of elementary program students was at the most level. 3. Students learned the process of group working and lesson planning. Their ability to write lesson plans was increased. The use of cooperative learning method was appropriate, but other learning methods are also suggested. They were confident in writing lesson plans for the experimental teaching in schools. The problems encountered were, for example, the lack of responsibility in group work and the mismatch of lesson plan formats.
