Abstract

Participatory action research for environment management from the night market food in the old town chiang mai province, aims to obtain appropriate models for the management of the environmental problems of the eco-friendly night food market by using technology suitable for the socio-economic and environmental conditions, the results of the study found that, the main sources of pollution from the night food market are solid waste, most of which are general types of waste such as plastic drinking glasses, plastic bags, used chopsticks, and wet waste, including economy, with the amount of rubbish at 1-5 kilograms per shop per day and pollution from wastewater such as tap water, equipment, waste water from food waste, the amount of wastewater is 5-25 liters per shop per day. In terms of the level of knowledge and understanding about environmental pollution in terms of wastewater, solid waste and air, night food marketing had a high level of knowledge and understanding. In terms of engagement, including planning, operations, and evaluation, night food market operators were at a high level. An appropriate model for managing environmental problems in the night food market area consists of providing entrepreneurs with knowledge and understanding on environmental problems, treatment of wastewater using simple technology, and the use of a wastewater collection system for implementation. To meet the standards and separation of solid waste and wet separation to be utilized and disposed of properly.
